how to style/upcycle old fast fashion without it looking weird?
Before i became involved in the alternative community, I shopped at brands like hot topic and amazon for clothes. Since joining the community, I realize the error in buying fast fashion, especially from such places. I don't want to throw away my old clothes, even if they are fast fashion, but they simply don't look good in an outfit. They have that cheap, sanitized tacky look that all "alt" brand clothes have. I've already used a few t-shirts for fabric in DIY projects, but I would like to keep wearing some because I don't own many clothes. Any ideas on how to make them look better?

Subgenres of alternative fashion feel more overlapped in today’s age then years ago
I'm just in my twenties but when I look at the history of goth, grunge, emo, cyberpunk etc. it used to be more distinctively differenciated.
For myself I can't really tell which subculture I belong to I love goth literature and art but I only sometimes like to listen to goth music. When I listen to music it is mostly rock and metal. Clothing wise it depends on the day sometimes just black, other days goth, some other day more metal, sometimes slightly emo and other days grunge.
I also feel that other alternative people just don't limit themself to one genre. From my understanding of the alternative history it felt more differentiated then nowadays.
What are your takes on that? Do you think it changed or was it always like that?

Goth fashion adivce for a masc teen?
I like to dress boldy and full masc.
As of right now my fits are pseduo goth.
I mostly wear worn out metal band tees that I work in (manual labor), skull rings, spider rings, black crossess, a pendant that says memento mori, a celtic knot bracelet with black beads, a worn to death skull bracelet, worn to death spike bracelet, black jeans or dark blue, and I really like jean jackets.
I feel like I am just scratching the surface here.
Pls ignore spelling and grammar errors, I am blind as a bat (pun intended)
